Remote Support Software Pricing in 2026: What Each Tool Actually Costs.

Remote support tools are unusually hard to price-compare, and it is not because vendors are hiding anything. It is because they sell different units. One vendor's "$45 a month" is per named technician; another's is per concurrent technician; a third's is a licence with one connection included and device add-ons on top.

Compare the headline numbers and you will reliably pick the wrong tool. This post normalises them.

All figures are published list prices in USD before tax, checked 22 September 2026, with the configuration stated. Promotions, regional pricing and negotiated rates will differ. Disclosure: Remote Login is our own product, built and operated by Houston IT Developers.

The three pricing models

Almost every tool is one of these. Identify yours before looking at any number.

Per named technician. You buy a seat for a specific person. Ten technicians, ten seats — regardless of whether they are all online at once. Devices are usually included up to an allowance.

Per concurrent technician. You buy simultaneous connections. Ten technicians who are never online together might share three seats. Cheap for spiky teams, and a hard ceiling during an incident.

Per licence plus add-ons. A base licence with a set number of connections, then extras for more connections, more devices, or more features. The most flexible and the hardest to forecast.

A fourth pattern hides inside the third: unattended devices licensed separately from technician seats. This is the most common source of a renewal surprise, because the seat count stays flat while the device count quietly grows all year.

On TeamViewer's missing number

If you have searched for TeamViewer pricing and found three different answers, you were not searching badly. Its business tiers price on licensed users, simultaneous connections and managed devices together, and the current total generally comes from its own selector or a sales conversation.

One figure circulates widely: that ten technicians and 500 devices costs roughly $509 per month. Those two inputs do not establish that total, because the connection count is a third variable — so we are not going to repeat it as fact. If you are evaluating TeamViewer, get a written quote for your exact technician count, concurrent connection count and device count. Everything else is comparing guesses.

The same scenario, priced across tools

Here is the normalisation. Scenario: 10 technicians, 500 managed devices, supporting multiple client organisations, annual commitment where it lowers the price.

ToolMonthlyHow it gets there
Remote Login Agency$45010 named seats × $45. 500 devices sits inside the 2,500 allowance
ScreenConnect Standard$450 if 10 concurrent
$135 if 3 concurrent
10 × $45, or 3 × $45 if your real peak is three
AnyDesk Standard$429 base10 × $42.90, plus add-ons for extra connections and device management
Splashtop SOS~$216–$33310 × $259–$399 per year ÷ 12; confirm device scaling at 500
TeamViewerQuote requiredThree variables; no figure asserted here
RustDesk$0 licencePlus server hosting and your own time

Three things this table shows that a headline-price comparison does not:

ScreenConnect's answer depends entirely on a number you have to measure. At true 10-way concurrency it costs the same as Remote Login Agency. At 3-way concurrency it is a third of the price. Teams consistently guess this number too low — count it from a real month before you rely on it.

AnyDesk's $429 is a base, not a total. One included connection per licence means the configured cost for a team working simultaneously is higher than the arithmetic above.

Remote Login's figure does not move when the device count does. At 500 devices it is $450. At 2,500 devices it is still $450. That is the whole point of allowance-based per-seat pricing, and it is the variable that most often breaks a budget elsewhere. You can work your own team's number out directly, or read the full published-pricing comparison with each vendor's configuration stated.

⚠️

Run this same table with your numbers before deciding. The winner changes completely at different technician-to-device ratios — which is exactly why generic "best remote support software" rankings are not useful for a pricing decision.

Where the cost actually moves over three years

The list price is the smallest part of the total. These are the things that change the bill after you sign:

Device growth. The most common. Your headcount is flat, your managed fleet grows 30% a year, and on a device-licensed model your bill grows with it. On an allowance model it does not move until you cross a tier.

Concurrency growth. On concurrent licensing, hiring one technician might cost nothing — or it might force an extra seat. It depends on scheduling, not headcount, which makes it hard to forecast.

Add-on creep. Extra connections, mobile support, additional device management. These are individually small and cumulatively significant.

Term lock-in. Annual billing usually lowers the monthly equivalent, and equally removes your ability to leave mid-year. Worth it once you are confident in the tool; expensive during evaluation.

Migration cost. The real cost of the wrong choice is not the subscription — it is redeploying agents across every endpoint and re-verifying unattended access on machines nobody can physically reach. Budget this before switching, not after. We cover the safe sequence in the TeamViewer alternatives guide.

How to get comparable quotes

  1. Fix the scenario first. Write down your technician count, your true concurrent peak, your device count and your expected device count in 24 months.
  2. Ask every vendor to quote that exact configuration in writing, including unattended access.
  3. Ask explicitly what happens when the device count doubles. The answer is the single best predictor of your year-three bill.
  4. Ask what a mid-term seat reduction costs. Some prorate both ways; some do not refund at all.
  5. Compare total configured cost, not base price. A cheaper base with two required add-ons is not cheaper.

Question 3 is the one that changes minds. Vendors answer it very differently, and the difference compounds.

Where to go next

If you have quotes in hand and want them normalised to the same units, get in touch — it is usually a 20-minute job and it regularly changes the answer.
